Cycling to Nyumba ya Mungu Dam
Nyumba ya Mungu reservoir was completed in 1965 in northern Tanzania. By 1970 there was a thriving tilapia fishery but it declined catastrophically in subsequent years. A team of biologists surveyed the lake in 1974, and this paper outlines their hydrological, geographical, and climatic findings.
This is the dame created from colonial error to gather water flowing from the slope of Mount Kilimanjaro for hydroelectric power. This is also the source of the Pangani River is among the large and biggest rivers in Tanzania powering its water in the Indian Ocean. We can enjoy boating and fishing activities here.
