Day 1: Drive from Moshi to Marangu Gate, then hike through the rainforest to Mandara Hut (2,700m / 8,875ft).
Day 2: Hike from Mandara Hut up through the heath and moorland zone to Horombo Hut (3,720m / 12,200ft).
Day 3: Acclimatization day at Horombo Hut with optional short hikes (such as toward Mawenzi Ridge) to help adjust to the altitude.
Day 4: Trek across the alpine desert of the saddle between Kibo and Mawenzi to Kibo Hut (4,700m / 15,430ft).
Day 5: Summit night starting very early via Gilman’s Point to Uhuru Peak (5,895m / 19,341ft), then descending back down to Horombo Hut.
Day 6: Final descent from Horombo Hut back to Marangu Gate to collect summit certificates and transfer back to Moshi.
