Day 0: Arrival in Moshi

• Welcome to Moshi, where your thrilling 5-day Marangu Route trek itinerary begins, leading you to the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro. You will receive a warm welcome and be taken to your comfortable lodge in Moshi as soon as you arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport. Use this day to relax, acclimate to the altitude, and prepare for the amazing adventure that is yet to come. Accommodations: Moshi's cozy lodge.

Day 1: Moshi to Marangu Gate to Mandara Hut

• Your five-day trek along the Marangu Route begins today! Your knowledgeable guide will meet you at your lodge for a pre-trek briefing following a filling breakfast. Your Kilimanjaro adventure will start when you are driven from Moshi to the Marangu Gate (1,860m), which is the beginning of the famous Marangu Route. Keep an eye out for the distinctive flora and fauna that inhabit the lush rainforests as you travel the 5-Day Marangu route trek, which is teeming with biodiversity. Mandara Hut (2,700m), a cozy resting place amidst the natural splendor that the 5-Day Marangu Route trek has to offer, is your destination for the day.

Day 2: Mandara Hut to Horombo Hut

• Your five-day trek along the Marangu Route begins today! Your knowledgeable guide will meet you at your lodge for a pre-trek briefing following a filling breakfast. Your Kilimanjaro adventure will start when you are driven from Moshi to the Marangu Gate (1,860m), which is the beginning of the famous Marangu Route. Day 3: Horombo Hut to Kibo Hut

• Ascend higher towards the alpine desert on the 5-Day Marangu Route trek and start an exciting day of hiking. Experience the distinctive landscape that the 5-Day Marangu Route trek is known for as you pass the "Last Water Point" and make your way across the captivating Saddle, which is tucked away between the famous peaks of Kibo and Mawenzi. You will arrive at Kibo Hut (4,703m) after a strenuous but worthwhile hike of about 6-7 hours. Here, you will rest and get ready for the last push towards Uhuru Peak. Ten kilometers in total. Day 4: Kibo Hut to Uhuru Peak to Horombo Hut

• As you set out on the highlight of your five-day Marangu Route trek—the summit attempt to reach Africa's highest point, Uhuru Peak—get ready for an incredible day. Start your 5-Day Marangu Route trek early in the morning, beneath the glittering stars, and head for Gilman's Point (5,685m), where you can see a spectacular sunrise. Push yourself to the limit as you make your way through snow and steep slopes to the famous Uhuru Peak (5,895m), where you can take in the breathtaking 360-degree views. After returning to Kibo Hut for a brief rest, proceed to Horombo Hut, where you will spend the night.

Day 5: Horombo Hut to Marangu Gate, Departure

• Go down to the Marangu Gate. Finish the procedures to obtain your summit certificate. Return to Moshi to depart while taking stock of your five-day mountain trek along the Marangu Route.
