2023 Kilimanjaro Bike Trekking 5 Days Via Marangu Route Tour Package

Day 1 : Moshi to Marangu Gate to Kilema Gate to Horombo Hut

You will be picked up from your hotel at 8:30 am. This morning, we'll drive through the semi-tropical foothills of Mount Kilimanjaro to Marangu gate, where you can register and get your permit. Then, we'll drive to Kilema gate to enter Kilimanjaro Park and start the 100 percent bike-based ascent to Horombo Hut. The 19-kilometer riding ride is covered by forest and moorland.

Day 2: Full Day Horombo Acclimatization

• This day is dedicated to acclimatization and adapting to the altitude.
• You may take a rest day at Horombo Hut or participate in a short biking excursion in the area to aid acclimatization.
• Optional hikes or activities may be offered to explore the surroundings and enjoy the views.
• Overnight at Horombo Hut.

Day 3: Horombo Hut to Kibo Hut

• Resume the bike trekking journey from Horombo Hut to Kibo Hut (4,703 meters).
• Cycle through the alpine desert, crossing the "Saddle" between Mawenzi and Kibo peaks.
• The biking distance and duration may vary depending on the trail conditions and group pace.
• Rest and prepare for the summit attempt.
• Overnight at Kibo Hut.

Day 4: Kibo Hut to Uhuru Peak, descent to Horombo hut

• Start the summit attempt in the early hours of the morning on foot (bikes are typically not allowed beyond a certain point).
• Trek from Kibo Hut to Uhuru Peak (5,895 meters), the highest point of Mount Kilimanjaro.
• Witness the sunrise from the summit and celebrate your achievement.
• Descend back to Kibo Hut and continue descending to the horombo

Day 5: Horombo Hut (3720 M) to Kilema gate (1800 M)

• Descend from Horombo Hut to the Kilema Gate with bike almost 1hr (1,860 meters).
• Complete the necessary park formalities and receive your summit certificates.
• Meet your driver at the gate and transfer back to Moshi.
• Celebrate your successful trek and rest in your hotel.
