3 Days Selous Safari -Game drive, Boat& Walking Safari.

Day 1: Dar es Salaam to Selous( Nyerere National Park )– Afternoon Boat Safari

6:00 AM – Pick-Up from Dar es Salaam

Your professional driver-guide will pick you up from your hotel, residence, or airport in Dar es Salaam early in the morning. After a short safari briefing about the journey and safety rules, you begin your drive to Nyerere National Park. The road journey takes about 5 to 6 hours depending on traffic and road conditions.

Along the way, you will pass small towns, local villages, farms, and open countryside. You may see local people working in the fields, roadside markets, and beautiful natural scenery. There will be short stops for stretching, restroom breaks, or refreshments.

Optional: If you prefer a faster and more comfortable transfer, you can take a domestic flight from Dar es Salaam. The flight takes about 1 hour and offers beautiful aerial views of rivers and forests.

12:30 PM – Arrival and Lunch

Upon arrival at your lodge or tented camp inside or near the park, you will be warmly welcomed by the lodge staff. You will check into your room or tent and have time to freshen up.

A freshly prepared lunch will be served at the restaurant. Meals usually include a variety of local and international dishes. After lunch, you can relax in your room, enjoy the view, or sit by the swimming pool if the lodge has one.

4:00 PM – Boat Safari on Rufiji River

In the afternoon, you will head to the Rufiji River for a guided boat safari. This activity is unique to Nyerere National Park and gives you a different safari experience compared to game drives.

From the boat, you may see:

• Large groups of hippos swimming and resting in the water
• Crocodiles lying quietly on the riverbanks
• Elephants coming to drink water
• Buffaloes near the shoreline
• Many colorful bird species such as fish eagles and kingfishers

Your guide will explain animal behavior and interesting facts about the river ecosystem. The cool breeze and peaceful environment make this activity very relaxing. The sunset over the river creates a beautiful golden view, perfect for photography.

6:30 PM – Dinner and Overnight

After the boat safari, you return to your lodge or camp before dark. You can relax, take a shower, and prepare for dinner.

Dinner is served at the lodge restaurant. After dinner, you can enjoy the quiet African night, listen to natural sounds, and rest for the next day.

Day 2: Full-Day Game Drive in Nyerere National Park

7:00 AM – Breakfast at the Lodge

You start your morning with breakfast at the lodge. Early mornings are fresh and peaceful, and you may hear birds singing or see animals moving near the camp.

Breakfast usually includes tea, coffee, juice, fruits, eggs, bread, and other options to prepare you for a full day of safari.

8:00 AM – Full-Day Game Drive

After breakfast, you leave for a full-day game drive in a 4x4 safari vehicle with a pop-up roof for better wildlife viewing and photography.

Nyerere National Park is home to many wild animals, including:

• Large herds of African elephants
• Lions resting under trees or hunting
• Leopards (sometimes seen in trees)
• African wild dogs
• Buffaloes in large groups
• Zebras and giraffes grazing
• Antelopes such as impala, kudu, and hartebeest

The park has different landscapes like open plains, woodlands, lakes, and rivers. Your guide will drive slowly and use experience to locate animals. He will also explain animal tracks, behavior, and the natural environment.

1:00 PM – Picnic Lunch in the Park

At midday, you stop at a safe and designated picnic site inside the park. You will enjoy your packed lunch while surrounded by nature.

There are usually basic facilities and shaded areas. After lunch and a short rest, you continue exploring different areas of the park.

4:30 PM – Return to Lodge

After a full day of wildlife viewing, you drive back to your lodge. On the way, you may still see animals crossing the road or moving toward water sources.

7:00 PM – Dinner and Overnight

In the evening, dinner is served at the lodge. You can share safari stories and photos with other travelers or simply relax. The night sky in Nyerere is very clear, and you may see many stars.

Day 3: Walking Safari & Return to Dar es Salaam

6:30 AM – Early Morning Walking Safari

Early in the morning, you join a guided walking safari with a trained armed ranger and guide. This activity allows you to experience nature closely and safely.

During the walk, you will learn about:

• Animal footprints and how to identify them
• Different plants and trees used for medicine
• Insects and small animals
• Bush survival skills and local knowledge

The guide will explain how animals live in the wild and how the ecosystem works. Walking safaris are conducted in safe areas and follow strict safety rules.

8:30 AM – Breakfast at the Lodge

After the walking safari, you return to the lodge for breakfast. You can relax, pack your luggage, and prepare for departure.

9:30 AM – Drive Back to Dar es Salaam

After check-out, you begin your journey back to Dar es Salaam by road. The drive takes about 5–6 hours with short stops along the way.

Optional: If you booked a flight, you will be transferred to the airstrip for your scheduled flight.

3:00 PM – Arrival in Dar es Salaam

You arrive in Dar es Salaam in the afternoon and will be dropped off at your hotel, residence, or airport depending on your travel plans.
