The bicycle tour will take place at the rural area of Tengeru village near Arusha town. This area is a green rural area with plenty of big trees so the ride will be interesting passing through small farms. If the day is a market day, which takes place twice a week in this village, we can scroll through the stands and merchandise that is offered and fill the beat of the life here. The cycling tour will take 2-3 hours and will end where it has started, at Duluti Volcano Crater Lake, where we will enjoy a relaxing time and great lunch out of a special varied menu at the Duluti Crater Lake Restaurant. After lunch we will proceed with Canoeing at the lake, that will lead us to new discoveries, where we will try to see forest and water wildlife as well as learn about its interesting history, variety of animals and its flora & fauna,
After canoeing we can wait for the sunset, looking at the changing colours and listen to the new sounds of the forest that wakes up at sundown.
Duluti Volcano Crater Lake:
The amazing geological phenomenon Lake Duluti Forest Reserve, managed by TFS (Tanzania Forest Services), is located just 10 km out of Arusha town. Lake Duluti is a Volcano Crater Lake with green coloured water. There is no above ground stream feeding it and the Lake receives water from underground flows. The Lake has an area of 62.3 ha, and the deepest point is 700m and is surrounded by a beautiful natural forest full of different tree species that forms beautiful scenery.
As for wildlife we can spot reptiles like monitor lizards, different bird species which include grey herons, fish eagles, cormorants, ospreys and king fishers. Dik diks, Monkeys and mongoose also can be found at the forest.
