Description

Tanzania Wildebeest Migration Safari

Of the 8 natural wonders, the world’s biggest distinct movement of the wild creatures, the Great Wildebeest Migration, is a remarkable motivation to experience nature and the Tanzania Wildebeest Migration Safari is the right safari to have this amazing experience.

In southern Serengeti, about half a million wildebeests leave their grounds every year. Annually, these wildebeests with hundreds of thousands of elands, zebras, gazelles alongside an entourage of hunters move towards the next water reservoir. Arriving in April or May and staying till June by doing hiking through the South Central Seronera borders towards the Western Corridor and Grumeti River. Lastly around July or August onwards moving towards the Masai Mara National Reserve in Kenya by crossing the dangerous river of Mara and returning through the same perilous river. Around the month of October and November, heading to eastern Serengeti towards the bearing of Lobo and Loliondo.

The migration of the white-bearded wildebeests to the calving grounds of southern Ndutu starts again around December for a short period. Rain forecasts are used to figure out the migration of the wildebeests. This makes Tanzania a favorable location to observe the movement as the wildebeests move from north to south and then back to the north in search of meadows.

On the other hand, big cats will also be seen because they generally come after the wildebeests in search of food and take benefit from the young ones of the wildebeest calves for their sustenance. Hence, until March there is a great probability to see the big cats and the big five as well as how they are hunting along with your Tanzania Wildebeest Migration Safari.
