Katavi offers un-spoilt wildlife viewing in a remote location far off the beaten track. Katavi National Park is Africa at its most wild — unadulterated bush settings, spectacular views, and rich wildlife.
Plain breath taking is the only way to describe Mahale Mountains National Park, with its clear blue waters and white-sand beaches backed by lushly forested mountains soaring straight out of Lake Tanganyika, plus some of the continent’s most intriguing wildlife. And, because of its unrivalled remoteness, visitor numbers are low, adding to the allure.

Day 1 : Shared Charter from Arusha to Katavi National Park
Early morning shared charter flight from Arusha to Katavi National Park.
Transfer to Chada Camp with game drive en route.
Lunch at the Camp. Afternoon game drive (time permitting)
Evening sundowners with camp fire. Dinner and overnight at Chada Camp.
Day 2 : Katavi National Park
After breakfast depart for full day game drive with lunch boxes.
Evening Sundowners with camp fire. Dinner and overnight at Chada Camp
Day 3 : Katavi National Park/Lake Katavi
After early morning breakfast. Depart for full day game drive with lunch boxes to Lake Katavi.
Return to the Camp after lunch with game drive en route.
Evening Sundowners with campfire. Dinner and overnight at Chada Camp.
Day 4 : Shared Charter Katavi National Park to Mahale Mountains National Park
After breakfast depart on a shared charter flight to Mahale Mountains National Park. You will be met on arrival by a representative from the Camp. Transfer by boat to the Camp which takes approximately 90mins. A light mid-afternoon snack is served on board. Arrive at Greystoke Mahale Camp in the afternoon. Afternoon at leisure. Dinner and Overnight at camp.
Day 5 : Mahale National Park - Chimpanzee Trekking
Depart after a delicious breakfast for your Chimpanzee trekking experience. You will often hear them before you see them, their howls and shrieks reverberating through the forest, adding to the excitement as you search for them with your guide. Along with the time spent watching the chimps as they play, groom and possibly even hunt (1hr), you should see other forest game as well as amazing birds, butterflies and plants. The length of the trek varies each day, return to the camp in time for lunch. Afternoon at leisure. Dinner and Overnight at camp.
Day 6 : Mahale Mountains National Park/At Leisure
Greystoke offers a wonderful place to relax in one of Tanzania's most beautiful settings. You can spend your time lazing on the beach, swimming in the lake and looking for the colourful cichlid fish, or fishing from one of the lodge's boats. Today is your final full day at Greystoke, you might head back into the forest again to visit the chimpanzees for a second time, or just relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings at the camp or the beach. Dinner and Overnight at camp.
Day 8 : Shared Charter from Mahale Mountains National Park to Arusha
Breakfast at the camp. Transfer back to the airstrip for the return, shared charter flight to Arusha Airport.
