2 Days - Tarangire & Ngorongoro Crater

Day 1: Tarangire National Park

After breakfast, your driver-guide will collect you, and your safari will commence. You will drive from Moshi to Tarangire National Park. This takes approximately 3 hours. The name of the park originates from the Tarangire River that crosses through the park, being the only source of water for wild animals during dry seasons. The park is famous for its many elephants, baobab trees, and tree-climbing African pythons. The park covers an area of approximately 2,850 square kilometers. You will enjoy a day of game viewing, with a picnic lunch looking out over the river to break up the time in the car. After a nice game drive before it gets dark you will drive to the lodge or campsite for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 02 : Ngorongoro Crater

After breakfast you will drive to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area (NCA) (A UNESCO World Heritage site), this drive can take up to 30 minutes. Once in the NCA you will see the Rift Valley and animals like elephants, buffalos, zebra, monkeys,s, and birds. The main feature of the NCA is the Ngorongoro Crater, a large, unbroken, unfolded volcanic caldera. The crater, which formed when a giant volcano exploded and collapsed on itself some two to three million years ago, is 610 m (2,000 ft) deep and its floor covers 260 km2 (100 sq mi). You will then enter the crater and witness a large concentration of wild animals. This is undoubtedly the best place to see black rhinos in Tanzania as well as the pride of lions that include the magnificent black manned males. There are lots of colorful flamingoes and a variety of water birds. Other commonly sighted games included cheetahs, hyenas, and many other members of the antelope family. After completing your drive you will return to Moshi or Arusha.
