4-Day Safari from Zanzibar to Tarangire, Serengeti & Ngorongoro

Your safari begins with a flight from Zanzibar to northern Tanzania, where you’ll embark on an adventure through three of the most iconic wildlife destinations in Africa: Tarangire National Park, the Serengeti, and the Ngorongoro Crater. Here's what you can expect each day:

Day 1: Arrival and Exploration of Tarangire National Park

• Departure from Zanzibar: You’ll begin your safari journey with a flight from Zanzibar to Kilimanjaro International Airport (or nearby airstrip) in Tanzania. Upon arrival, your guide will meet you and drive you to Tarangire National Park, which is about a 2-hour drive.
• In Tarangire: Known for its striking baobab trees and large herds of elephants, Tarangire offers a more peaceful safari experience. You’ll embark on your first game drive, where you’ll spot an abundance of wildlife such as zebras, giraffes, and lions. The park is also famous for being a birdwatcher’s paradise with over 500 species of birds, including yellow-billed storks and African fish eagles.
• Evening: After the day's game drive, you’ll settle into your lodge for a peaceful night, enjoying local Tanzanian cuisine under the stars.

Day 2: Serengeti National Park – The Iconic Plains

• Transfer to Serengeti: After a hearty breakfast, you’ll drive from Tarangire to the Serengeti National Park, one of the most famous wildlife destinations in the world. The journey will take you through the Ngorongoro Highlands, offering stunning views of the Tanzanian landscape.
• In the Serengeti: Known for its vast plains, the Serengeti is a perfect setting for an exhilarating game drive. This park is home to the Great Migration (during certain months), where millions of wildebeest and zebras move across the plains in search of fresh grass. Depending on the time of year, you may witness this spectacular natural event.
• The Serengeti also offers great opportunities to spot predators, including lions, cheetahs, hyenas, and even leopards. You’ll spend the day tracking wildlife, with a picnic lunch served in the heart of the park.
• Evening: After a full day of exploring, you’ll head back to your lodge for a relaxing evening and dinner, possibly sharing stories of your thrilling wildlife encounters.

Day 3: Ngorongoro Crater – A Unique Ecosystem

• Journey to Ngorongoro: On the morning of Day 3, you'll depart the Serengeti and travel to the Ngorongoro Crater, often referred to as the “Garden of Eden.” The drive will take you through lush highlands and the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, offering beautiful views along the way.
• In Ngorongoro: The Ngorongoro Crater is the largest intact volcanic caldera in the world and is home to an incredible diversity of wildlife. You’ll descend into the crater floor and enjoy a half-day game drive where you’ll likely see the Big Five—lions, elephants, leopards, buffaloes, and rhinos.
• The crater is also home to large populations of hippos, flamingos, and cheetahs, as well as breathtaking landscapes. You may also see herds of wildebeest and zebras as they graze the rich grasslands.
• Picnic Lunch: Enjoy a delicious picnic lunch at a scenic spot within the crater, overlooking a waterhole or surrounded by wildlife.
• Evening: After your game drive, you’ll ascend from the crater and head to a nearby lodge for dinner and your final night in Tanzania’s wilderness.

Day 4: Departure

• Morning: After breakfast, you'll enjoy a short game drive around the Ngorongoro area, or a visit to a nearby Maasai village (optional, at an additional cost). You’ll have a chance to interact with the Maasai people and learn about their culture and traditional way of life.
• Return to Zanzibar: After your final morning activities, you’ll be transferred to Lake Manyara Airstrip or another nearby airstrip for your flight back to Zanzibar. Upon arrival in Zanzibar, you’ll be transferred back to your hotel, completing your safari adventure.
