10 DAYS TANZANIA SAFARI & CULTURAL ACTIVITIES

Description

10 DAYS TANZANIA SAFARI & CULTURAL ACTIVITIES

The high Spot of Tanzania - Serengeti, Ngorongoro Crater, Lake Manyara & Tarangire National Park

features large numbers of game, particularly during the dry season, when the Tarangire River is the only source of water in the area. The landscape is of particular interest too, due to the high number of scenic baobab trees.

Lake Manyara National Park offers a wilderness experience in diverse habitats, from its Rift Valley soda lake to dense woodlands and steep mountainsides. Apart from a spectacular setting, the park is famous for its unusual tree-climbing lions and the vast elephant herds it was established to protect.

Ngorongoro Crater, extinct volcanic caldera in the Eastern (Great) Rift Valley, northern Tanzania. It lies 120km west of the town of Arusha. The caldera measures between 16km and 19km across and has an area of 264 square km.

The Crater is well-known for its high concentration of wildlife worldwide with its per capita being the highest compared to Serengeti National Park.

Serengeti National Park is the home of the Great Migration and may very well be one of the last true natural wonders on planet earth. Serengeti National Park is a World Heritage Site teeming with wildlife; over 2 million ungulates, 4000 lions, 1000 Leopards, 550 cheetahs and about 500 bird species. At the foot of Mount Kilimanjaro outside the passageway to Kilimanjaro National Park lies the beautiful town of Marangu. Local people can arrange different cultural activities and visits through valleys and to the Materuni waterfalls. Guests can advantageously initiate a half day, or entire day walking tour.

The Mount Meru Hotel is a great spot to unwind and get ready for your safari trip because it is situated in such sizable, lush grounds.

Accommodation at; Mount Meru Hotel, meals on bed and breakfast basis

Day 2: Arusha - Tarangire National Park - Karatu Town

Your personal safari guide will pick you up from your accommodation following breakfast. You pass across gently rolling Maasai plains with sporadic acacia trees on your way to Tarangire. Many Maasai in their vibrant clothing can be seen walking alongside the road, riding bicycles, and herding animals.

The Tarangire River, which flows through the park, is the source of its name. During the dry season, this “river of warthogs” is the only source of water for the local fauna. The park is well-known for its herds of elephants, which frequently gather near the river. Giraffe, bushbuck, and hartebeest may also be seen. Numerous predators, including as lions and leopards, are closely monitoring these animals. Tarangire National Park is home to more breeding bird species than any other place on earth. Here, one may witness the enormous, ages-old baobab trees.

You will drive to Karatu town for dinner and overnight after your game drive.

Accommodation at; Marera Valley Lodge on full board basis.

Day 3: Karatu - Serengeti National park

You will continue to the rich Ngorongoro highlands, where the Iraq people farm wheat and corn, after breakfast. You will go through the mist-shrouded rainforests of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area along the route, and if you’re lucky, you might spot baboons, leopards, or even elephants in the deep underbrush.

You will witness the magnificent Ngorongoro Crater as you pass through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area before continuing on to the Serengeti National Park, which you will arrive at around noon. The Serengeti National Park is the largest park in Tanzania and features a variety of habitats and sceneries, including grassy plains, lakes, marshes, and savannah.

After a lengthy game drive, you will go to the Seronera Valley, where you will spend the night and have dinner.

Accommodation at; Acacia Central Serengeti Camp on full board basis.

Day 4: Serengeti National Park

Game drives in the Serengeti are scheduled for today. The Serengeti is genuinely amazing. It is renowned for its broad, open grasslands, which make for fantastic wildlife sightings. The Serengeti is both one of the planet’s oldest ecosystems and Tanzania’s oldest national park. For millions of years, its climate and vegetation have mostly remained unaltered.

Although the Serengeti is home to a variety of wildlife, the annual great migration is likely what makes it most famous. Large herds of wildebeest, zebra, and antelope move in a predictable rhythm every year in search of new grazing. Every year’s rainfall patterns determine exactly where the migration will occur and when.

You will return to your lodging after your game drive for a substantial dinner and some downtime under the stars.

Accommodation at; Acacia Central Serengeti Camp on full board basis.

Day 5: Serengeti National Park

You might want to go on a dawn game drive today. Watch the savannah catch fire as the sun rises, while lions and leopards search for their morning prey.

As an alternative, you might like to extend your safari by include a champagne breakfast and a hot air balloon safari at sunrise. Ask your Lion King tour advisor how you may include this priceless event in your safari.

As you continue to explore the Serengeti, you will see a wide variety of animals, birds, and sceneries.

Accommodation at; Acacia Central Serengeti Camp on full board basis.

Day 6: Serengeti - Ngorongoro Conservation Area

You will take one last wildlife drive in the Serengeti after breakfast before moving on to the Ngorongoro Crater. You will get a first impression of the endless variety of animals that will be present the following day when you arrive at the crater’s edge in the late afternoon.

On the crater rim, where the views of the crater are quite spectacular, you will spend the night at the lodge.

Accommodation at; Ngorongoro Rhino Lodge on full board basis.

Day 7: Ngorongoro Crater to Karatu

Ngorongoro Crater seems like a lost realm when you first see it. A natural environment with expansive grassland, isolated areas of acacia woodland, and shimmering lakes and swamps is hidden by the steep volcanic walls. A sizable volcano that erupted and then collapsed in on itself 2 to 3 million years ago caused the crater. It is well-known for its stunning geology as well as having a nature reserve that is home to some of the continent of Africa’s densest concentrations of large mammals.

An adventure in and of itself is the trip down into the crater. As soon as you enter the crater bottom, you are surrounded by a significant population of wildebeest, zebra, gazelle, and more than 500 different species of birds. The endangered black rhino, which can occasionally be seen on the wide grasslands, is more likely to be found in the crater.

You will drive to the adjacent village of Karatu for dinner and the night after the day’s thrills and excitement.

Accommodation at; Marera Valley Lodge on full board basis.

Day 8: Lake Manyara National Park to Arusha

You will go to Lake Manyara National Park, the last stop on this epic safari, after breakfast. Manyara is a pristine paradise best known for its profusion of birds and lions that can scale trees. The Rift Valley’s stunning western escarpment defines the park’s western boundary. The alkaline, shallow Lake Manyara is located to the east. A sizable portion of the park is covered by a lake, which fluctuates in size according to the seasons and serves as a haven for thousands of flamingos when it rains. The Maasai word “Manyara,” a well-known plant that is used to construct the protective enclosure surrounding a family homestead, is whence the name Manyara originates (Boma).

The park has a wide variety of vegetation, from savannah to evergreen forest. You might come across giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, buffalo, elephants, and if you’re lucky, lions relaxing in the trees while you explore the park.

You will depart for Arusha after lunch, and you’ll get there in the early evening.

Accommodation at; Mount Meru Hotel, meals on bed and breakfast basis

Day 9: Cultural activity in Kilimanjaro Region

You will depart from your Arusha lodging in the early morning and go to Materuni hamlet in the Kilimanjaro region for a beautiful coffee tour. You’ll discover the methods used to grow, dry, roast, and further process coffee. A fun approach to become more familiar with the community is to participate in the coffee grinding, which is customarily accompanied by Chagga music and dances. You will be able to view Mount Kilimanjaro’s top if the sky is clear.

After spending the day in Materuni, you will be taken to a modest lodge close to Kilimanjaro International Airport, which is situated on lovely grounds. The next day, a lodge employee will drive you to the airport.

Accommodation at; Mount Meru Hotel, meals on bed and breakfast basis

Day 10: Departure

You will be transported to Kilimanjaro Airport at the appropriate time so you can board your journey.
