Day 1: Arrival in Kiruna – Welcome to the Arctic Circle
Arrive in Kiruna and transfer to your hotel in the heart of the town. Settle into the Elite Hotel Frost, a cosy and stylish base with panoramic views over snowy fells. In the evening, enjoy the hotel’s spa or rooftop bar and get your first glimpse of the Arctic sky.
Day 2: Husky Adventure & Sámi Evening
Spend the morning on a husky sledding adventure through snow-laden forests, accompanied by professional mushers. Warm up with pastries and hot drinks while learning about the lifestyle. The afternoon is free to explore Kiruna, with an optional visit to the LKAB iron ore mine. In the evening, visit a Sámi reindeer herder, share a traditional meal inside a lavvu, and experience Arctic storytelling beneath the Starry Northern Sky.
Day 3: Icehotel Visit & Scenic Train to Björkliden
Travel to Jukkasjärvi for a guided visit to the world-famous Icehotel, exploring the seasonal art suites, Icehotel 365, and the historic Sámi church. Return to Kiruna before boarding a scenic train west to Björkliden, passing snowy fells and frozen lakes. Arrive at Hotell Fjället, overlooking Lake Torneträsk and the dramatic Lapporten valley.
Day 4: Mountains at Leisure & Snowshoe Walk
Enjoy a relaxed morning with views over Lake Torneträsk and surrounding peaks. Optional activities include ice climbing on frozen waterfalls. In the evening, join a guided snowshoe walk to a secluded mountain cabin, where you gather around the fire and, if lucky, witness the Northern Lights.
Day 5: Abisko National Park & Optional Snowmobile Adventure
Take a short train ride to Abisko Tourist Station and explore trails along frozen canyons, Sámi cultural installations, and the lakeside landscape. Return to Björkliden for free time, sauna, and optional evening Northern Lights snowmobile rides across the Arctic plateau.
Day 6: Departure from Björkliden
After breakfast, check out from Hotell Fjället. Transfers to Kiruna Airport can be arranged, or continue your Arctic journey further into Sweden or Norway.
