Day Trip to Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage from Colombo
Great place to interact with native Asian elephants. We ate in the fully glassed restaurant where you can see them bathing in the river. You also see them interacting with each other: eating, nursing, and frolicking. You may even pet them. no evidence of maltreatment as some posters have said. Quite the contrary. They seemed very healthy and happy to live in peace!
