Bear Watching Tour Romania in the Land of Volcanoes
We start the Bear Watching Tour Romania in the Land of Volcanoes in the afternoon. Your guide will pick you up from your hotel situated within the city of Brasov. After a one and a half hour drive, you will arrive in the Land of Volcanoes, a beautiful area in the heart of Romania where there is still post-volcanic activity.
After meeting the ranger, you will be taken deep inside the forest, to one of the bear hides designed by one of the most successful wildlife photographers in the world, Mate Bence. Once here, you have to be as quiet as possible and wait for the bears to arrive. They can come at any time, so make sure you don't get overexcited when you see them. Sometimes, even wild boars, wolves or other wild animals can appear in the clearing.
The bear hides are specially built at ground level in order to see the bears from a very close distance. Moreover, the windows are mirror-like, so the bears cannot see you inside. However, it's better to have your flash and focus assist light turned off.
During your stay, you will be served with traditional Hungarian drinks to keep you warm. After about two hours, you will head back to the car and you will be driven back to Brasov to your hotel and your Bear Watching Tour Romania in the Land of Volcanoes ends.
