Fado - Tradicional Concert with Local Artist
Fado is one of the most authentic expressions of Lusitanian culture, internationally known and recognised as an Intangible Heritage of Humanity, and this is a project created and run by the musicians themselves, with the support of the local community. Here is what you can expect:
Experience an intimate Fado concert with professional and local musicians in Cais de Gaia. Listen to fantastic music while taking in the views of the river and the city of Porto. Spend an hour feeling the poetry of the singing and the strumming of the guitar strings, sometimes sad, sometimes happy, but always full of emotion. The artists will also be on hand for a warm welcome. At the end of the concert, you can chat with the artists to learn more about fado and its traditions, and even get the best tips on local places to visit. Don't be afraid to ask.
During the concert, a glass of port will be served, a glass of honor, from a renowned brand of wine from small producers in the Douro.
