• Hotel Pick-up and Scenic Drive Our professional tour guide and driver will pick you up directly from your hotel in a comfortable, modern transport unit. We will embark on a scenic drive through the stunning landscapes of the Sacred Valley, heading toward our local ATV base located in the picturesque region of Maras. Along the way, you will enjoy breathtaking panoramic views of the snow-capped Vilcanota mountain range.
• Safety Briefing and ATV Test Drive Upon arrival at our base, you will receive top-tier safety gear, including a professional helmet and gloves. Your expert guide will conduct a thorough safety briefing and a step-by-step demonstration on how to operate our premium quad bikes. You will have a practical test-drive session to ensure you feel 100% confident and comfortable before hitting the open trails.
• Off-Road Ride to the Moray Agricultural Terraces The adventure officially begins! We rev up our engines and ride along unpaved, scenic trails surrounded by vast agricultural fields and spectacular Andean vistas. Our first destination is the fascinating archaeological site of Moray. Here, we will park the ATVs and take a guided walk around these massive, concentric terraced depressions, which served as a highly advanced agricultural laboratory where the Incas experimented with crops under various microclimates.
• Cross-Country Trail to the Historic Salt Mines of Maras We hop back on our quad bikes and navigate through rugged paths toward the ancient Salt Mines of Maras (Salineras). This section of the ride offers unparalleled views of the canyon. At the site, you will marvel at over 3,000 natural salt evaporation ponds that have been actively harvested by local families since pre-Inca times. Your guide will explain the unique underground water supply and the traditional hand-harvesting process that yields the famous pink mountain salt.
• Return Ride to Base & Local Tasting We gear up for the final leg of our off-road journey, driving back along the mountain trails to our main base. Once there, you will have a chance to dust off, relax, and enjoy a brief tasting of local products made with authentic Maras salt.
• Return to Cusco We board our comfortable transport unit for a smooth ride back to the city. The tour concludes with a safe drop-off at your hotel or near the historic city center, leaving you with incredible memories and action-packed photographs of your Andean adventure.
