Private Tour to Giethoorn and Zaanse Schans Windmills from Amsterdam
Discover in a full day private sightseeing tour one of the most beautiful village in Holland: Giethoorn the Dutch Venice! You will have a guided canal cruise in a large boat or you can drive a small boat by yourself. Please inform your driver/host what you prefer. After Giethoorn you will go to the windmills, the countryside and a local cheese and clogs factory.
You will visit a unique Dutch park called the Zaanse Schans not far from Amsterdam. Here are the most special windmills of The Netherlands such as the paint windmill, the sawmill, spices mill and peanut oil.
Thereafter you will see how we make the original Dutch clogs and there is a possibility to buy clogs/wooden shoes and souvenirs.
The next stop will be at the Henri Willig farm where they will teach you how they treat their cows and there is a possibility to see how they milk the cows and you can see and touch the baby cows. Thereafter it is time to taste more than 30 types of very nice Dutch cheese for free!

1: Visit Giethoorn: Visit the nice and most beautiful place in The Netherlands: Giethoorn the Dutch Venice village. You will have a guided canal cruise in a large boat or you can drive a small boat by yourself. If you prefer to drive the boat by yourself please inform your driver so he can arrange that for you. After the canal cruise you can have a nice lunch in one of the nice restaurants or you can stroll in the nice Giethoorn town. Duration approx. 2.5 hours.
2: Visit the Windmills park: Discover the great Dutch Windmills and see them from inside. There are 7 windmills left at the Zaanse Schans and a few are open to visit. You can see the paint windmill (that is where Rembrandt the great Dutch artist purchased his paint), a saw mill, a spice mill and many more. There is also a possibility to take nice pictures of the windmills. Duration approx. 90 minutes.
Admission to the windmill park is included in this tour and also an entrance ticket for 1 windmill of your choice is included in this tour.
3: Visit the Clogs maker: Learn more about the Dutch wooden shoe making and see a demonstration how they make the Dutch clogs now. There is a possibility to buy the wooden shoes, the clogs and other souvenirs in the wooden shoe factory as well. Duration approx. 30 minutes.
4: Visit Jacobs Hoeve Cheese farm: Learn more about the Dutch wooden shoe making and see a demonstration how they make the Dutch clogs now. There is a possibility to buy the wooden shoes, the clogs and other souvenirs in the wooden shoe factory.
See a real Dutch farm with cows and baby cows. You will get an explanation how the Henri Willig farm makes their cheese from the milk of the Jersey cows. They have an automatic milking robot and see how they milk their cows automatically.
After the cows it is time to taste their special Gouda cheese. You can eat as much cheese as you want for free! There are more than 30 different types of cheese so enjoy!
There is a possibility to buy the cheese and if you don't have enough room in your suitcase you can let them ship the cheese to your country. Duration approx. 45 minutes.
5: Visit Volendam: Explore the nice and most famous Dutch fishing village Volendam. You can have a nice lunch in one of the best fish restaurants in town, buy very nice fresh Dutch waffles or stroll over the famous dijk and see the nice harbor of Volendam. There is also a possibility to buy some souvenirs as well. Duration approx 1 hour.
