Upper Mustang Trek with Local Guide
Upper Mustang, the place which reflects the pure Tibetan culture and tradition since 12th century, located at the northern Kora La, border to China, having the lowest elevation of 2,750m on the Kali Gandaki River just north of Kagbeni and the highest point of 6,700 m at Khamjung Himal, a peak in southeast Mustang.
The kingdom has its own history since the 13th century and the king had successfully ruled the kingdom till 2008 AD with 25th descendent. It is the small kingdom beyond the great Himalayas and known from different names like high altitude desert, rain shaded area and the forbidden kingdom of Lo.
Following the trekking route to Upper Mustang will unveil the enchanting view of Canyon, ridge, ancient caves, colorful Chorten, Monasteries, Mani walls and cliffs which manifest the unique landscape and the culture of the localities.
The trekking season is from late March to early November. Normally, most visitors make targets for May month to visit the Tiji festival (a ritual dance performed by the Monk) and August for the Yarlung festivals (Horse riding ceremonies).

Itinerary
- Visited Places:
Day 01: Arrival to Kathmandu
Day 02: Permit Preparation
Day 03: Transfer to airport, fly to Jomsom (2,743m) and Drive to Chuksang (2980m)
Day 04: Trek from Chuksang to Sangbochen (3,800m) via Chungshi Rangjung Cave.
Day 05: Sangboche to Dhakmar (3820m)
Day 06: Dhakmar to Lo Manthang (3750m) via Lo Gyakar gompa. Evening Visit Monasteries in Lo-Manthang which are some of the masterpiece wall paintings.
Day 07: Trek from thingkar village and visit Monastry and Caves in Chosar. Stay in Chosar. There are many things to do in Chosar.
Day 08: Morning hike to Kuncholing (an amazing landscape) and after lunch return back to Lo Manthang.
Day 09: Trek to Yara (3650m)
Day 10: Trek to Tangye (3340m)
Day 11: Trek to Chuksang (2980m)
Day 12 Drive to Jomsom (3760 m) and can do hiking around Dumba lake which is beautifully formed on the base of Nilgiri Mountains. Option (Your limited 10 days is over by today. If you don’t want to drive and hike through this dusty road to Jomsom then you have another option. You can trek from Chuksang to Muktinath which takes 6-7 hours. In the evening you can visit temples and towns. Next day you can directly hike to Jomsom via Lupra, Only Bon Religion village in Mustang)
Day 13: Fly to Pokhara (800m)
Day 14: Drive to Kathamndu
Day 15: Final Departure
