At the beginning of the Kyaikhtiyo and Bago day trip from Yangon head towards Kun Pun Base camp (4 hours’ drive). At this base camp, we will take on an open public truck used for 11 km hilly road which leads to the upper bus terminal on the top of the mountain. Then take a walk for 15 minutes to reach KyaikHtiyo (Golden rock stupa).

Very well known Golden Rock is a sacred, huge gold-leafed boulder located on the edge of a cliff near the top of Mt. Kyaikhtiyo. No doubt, the Golden Rock is one of the most revered Buddhist shrines. It has been widely accepted that the boulder keeps its balance due to the three strands of Buddha hair relic enshrined inside the rock. Having sightseeing at Kyaikhtiyo, you will descend from the top of the mountain in the public open truck again and return to Yangon.
