Description
All-day boat tour on Skadar lake
The tour begins from the small fishing village of Vranjina. On the boat, you will be provided with cold drinks and all safety equipment.
The first stop is the Orthodox Monastery of Vranjina from the 13th century, which we reach by sailing along the Moraca River. It offers one of the most beautiful views in Montenegro. You'll have 30 minutes to explore the monastery and the surrounding nature. Then, we head back along the river towards the lake channels, where you'll see plenty of water lilies, birds, and lake flowers.
The next stop is the 15th-century Monastery of Kom, endowed by our king Djurdje Crnojevic, where kings from that dynasty are also buried. It is located at the top of the island, and the journey to it is magnificent. The break here is also 30 minutes. We continue our journey towards the Rijeka Crnojevica along the boat route, where we'll have the opportunity to see rare bird species on the lake's pillars. This part of the journey is beautiful, passing by several interesting islands.
We arrive at Crnojevica River, where we park the boat and take a stroll through the small town, known for being the birthplace of one of the first printing presses and printed books in Europe. Here, we make a 30-40 minute break before heading back. Optionally, on the way back, we can organize lunch at a beach restaurant located on one of the islands of Skadar Lake. This option incurs an additional cost, and you'll have the menu from that restaurant as soon as you board the boat. After lunch and some time for swimming at the beach, we return to the village of Vranjina where we started.
