Description
Mt. Fuji Twin Lakes Day Tour is a scenic one-day journey designed for travelers who want to explore the most photogenic areas around Mt. Fuji at a relaxed pace. This route focuses on the famous Fuji Five Lakes region, combining natural scenery, traditional villages, and optional onsen relaxation.
The tour begins at Oishi Park by Lake Kawaguchi, one of the best-known viewpoints in the area. Surrounded by seasonal flowers and open lakeside views, this stop offers beautiful scenery with Mt. Fuji in the background on clear days. It is an ideal place for photos and a gentle walk along the lake.
Next, the journey continues to the Lawson convenience store near Kawaguchiko Station, a popular photo spot that captures the contrast between everyday Japanese life and the iconic Mt. Fuji landscape. This short stop allows time for photography and a brief break.
The third stop is the charming area often called “Stairway Town,” near Hikawa Clock Shop. This traditional street creates a natural frame toward Mt. Fuji, making it a favorite location for visitors who enjoy unique and atmospheric photos.
Afterward, the tour visits Oshino Hakkai, a traditional village famous for its crystal-clear spring water, small bridges, and preserved rural scenery. Guests will have free time to explore the village and enjoy lunch at a local restaurant (meal at own expense), making this a relaxing and cultural highlight of the day.
The final part of the tour offers a choice between two experiences. Guests may enjoy free time at Lake Yamanaka, the largest lake in the Fuji Five Lakes region, ideal for lakeside walks and photography. Alternatively, those seeking relaxation may choose an onsen experience, with drop-off available at Benifuji no Yu Onsen (entrance fee not included). If Benifuji no Yu is closed, the onsen visit will be replaced with Mt. Fuji Onsen.
Transportation is arranged throughout the day for a smooth and comfortable experience. The order of visits may vary depending on traffic and weather conditions. Views of Mt. Fuji are subject to weather and cannot be guaranteed.
