The historical and gastronomic tour of Masseria Spina offers a journey through 1200 years of history. The route guides us in discovering rock settlements, the necropolis and the 11th-century Minor Church, the fortified Spina Piccola Tower with its internal citrus grove, the ancient underground oil mill, the dye works, the exterior facade of Masseria Spina Grande, and the baroque-style Church of the Immaculate.
Following is a tasting of extra virgin olive oil that allows distinguishing it, through on-site demonstration, from refined oils and discovering its qualitative, nutritional, and organoleptic characteristics. Participants will learn how to taste, appreciate the clarity, density, color, and finally, be enchanted by its aroma.
