Samaria gorge day tour with guide
The National Park of the Samaria gorge is one of the longest gorges in Europe. A 16 km walk at the altidute of 1230 metres will be amazing and create one of the most fascinating tours in Crete. The views of the White Mountains are spectacular the rare flora and fauna of the gorge as well as the famous "Iron Gates" will amaze you as you are descending to the end towards sea level where you can find the small coastal village of "Agia Roumeli". You will also have the opportunity to swim in the Libyan see and have lunch before leaving with the boat to meet our busses.

Itinerary

- You will be driven to the Omalos Plateau where the entrance of the Samaria gorge is after the early morning hotel pick ups.
- During the drive you will be explained all the necessary information by our guide and afterwards he will collect the entrance and ferry fee to prepare your tickets for a quick entry.
- We will make a short breakfstk stop at a local tavern before entering.
- After a 1 hour drive you will start your hike at your own pace. You dont need to follow the group.
- After 5-6 hours you will reach the village of Agia Roumeli. Free time for lunch ( optional) or a swim at the Libyan Sea will be offered.
- At 17:30 p.m, you will get on the ferry to Sougia village. A1 hour ferry ride near the south coastline of Crete will bring you to our bus.
- A long and unforgettable day has come to its end about 20:00 where we will arrive at Chania center.
