Food tour in the Southern French countryside from Nîmes
Great food tour in Cévennes countryside to discover and taste local products that grow in that area. The figs are famous in the village of Vezenobres since the Middle Age and you will taste some of the numerous delicacies. Then you will enjoy the fruitful wines of IGP Cevennes in a local winery, with some goat cheese and saucisson, to fully appreciate it. To finish that culinary exploration you will discover some delicious products made with olives and almonds by Laurence and Jean. And all along the itinerary, you will admire the scenic views of the old villages, vineyards, mountains and wildflowers.

I will pick you up by van in Nîmes and we will go 45 minutes from there, to the charming village of Vézénobres. A guide from the tourist office will take you to the House of the Fig museum, to explain hou everything about the fig and its benefits, then you will taste delicisous fig-based products. Figs have been famous in Vézénobres since the Middle Ages and there is a conservatory in the village with hundreds of varieties.
Then we will resume the minibus for a 20 minutes drive and we will stop at a wine estate, to taste the fruity wines of the Cevennes IGP terroir, accompanied by other local products such as goat's cheese, olives and dry sausage, to fully appreciate it.
Lunch break: your choice of a restaurant (additional charge) or a picnic that you will bring.
To finish this culinary exploration you will discover delicious products made from olives and almonds by Laurence and Jean. And all along the route, you'll admire panoramic views of old villages, vineyards, mountains and wildflowers.
I will take you back to Nîmes at the end of the day.
