- Visit Deir el-Medina, home to artisans, servants and craftsmen who worked at the royal tombs. The crafts and also the cottages were passed on from generation to generation. Because these were the finest artists, their graves are lavishly decorated with the most beautiful representations of everyday life. From the plateau of the tombs, you will have an excellent overview of the houses and streets of Deir al-Medina. A scale model shows who lived where and when.
- Then, head to the mortuary temple of Seti I, whose construction started during his reign but was finalized after his death by his son, Ramses II. Although not as famous as his temple in Abydos, this memorial, located near palm groves, is worth visiting.
