Guided kayaking trip around Agia Napa Sea Caves

It is a sea kayaking trip that may also include snorkeling, depending on travelers’ preferences and time availability.

Our sit-on-top kayaks are light watercraft that can be used by individuals with no kayaking experience for a fun exploration of some of the most scenic coastlines in Cyprus. The water is usually crystal clear and an addition of snorkelling in these light blue waters enriches the experience.

Pickup time (meeting time): To be agreed with the travelers.

Usually, it is at 09:00 (we strongly recommend an even earlier kayaking trip, as the sea tends to be calmer earlier in the morning ).

Pickup (meeting) location: At an agreed place (eg hotel, etc) in Agia Napa or Protaras.

From Agia Napa or Protaras the trip would probably provide us with around four hours of exploration. However if we agree to meet at a specific beach, then we would have upto five hours of exploration in the sea.

Itinerary:

We start from Limnara (or Ammos tou Kampouri) beach and initially, we kayak west upto and along the Agia Napa Sea Caves, including Lovers' Bridge, and back. If the sea is calm (it usually is before eleven during the summer season), it is highly recommended that we also do some snorkeling (if customers like to).

Between March 15 and Nov 15 we go very close and possibly enter two of the caves, but from Nov 15 to March 15 we stay further away because the caves may be used by seals and their puppies. We do not want to disturb them.

Depending on time availability and customers preferences, we may be able also to do a go and return trip to Cape Greko Sea Caves complex.

The basic kayaking route:

Along Agia Napa Sea Caves (7 km / 4.5 mi) (from Limnara beach or from Ammos tou Kampouri beach going west and back)

If we have time and explorers want to we can also kayak to Cape Greko Sea Caves and back (3.5 / 2 mi).

Transportation:

We may be able to provide free transportation in our company car (which holds private insurance). We usually use a Citroen C8 MPV car or a Dacia Jogger.

What's included?

The use of a sit-on-top sea kayak, paddle, pfd, anchor (if customers request it, it adds extra weight), drybag (only six kayaks in total are available for travellers)

Guiding the trip in general and specifically guiding the kayaking (and snorkeling)

Not recommended for participants with heart complaints or other serious medical conditions.

Each kayak has a listed maximum capacity of 125 kg. We recommend a payload of no more than 100 kg.

Travelers can present either a paper or an electronic voucher for this activity.

Minors can participate provided they are escorted by their parent(s).

In case of forecasted choppy sea, instead we kayak around East Cape Greko (if the weather is expected to be bad everywhere, we cancel the trip).

As a rule, unless other arrangements are agreed beforehand, the trip is guided by Phivos, either in the English or the Greek language. Phivos also speaks good German, good Spanish, elementary French and elementary Mandarin.

What to bring

Water is a must (though one could buy in Agia Napa). Sun protection, bathing suite, snorkelling equipment, towels.

Please keep in mind that while we do provide things like a dry bag, travellers should be clear that they would probably get wet and they should not bring along things that could be damaged by salt water.

The kayaks are light, only 18 kilograms each and can go relatively fast, depending also on the weight on them. There is some storage place on them. At the same time, people should keep in mind that increasing the weight on the sea kayaking, increases the work they would need to do to move the kayak forward.
