AYAHUASCA | BLESSED PLANT
Ayahuasca is an ancient beverage originating from the indigenous peoples of the Amazon, used for medicinal purposes for the body and spirit. It is made from a local hallucinogenic plant, and its consumption as a beverage can induce hallucinations lasting between three to four hours, varying according to each individual's metabolism.
During the ritual, the local shaman leads the spiritual ceremony and ensures the well-being of the participants throughout. This experienced shaman remains attentive to the participants' needs during and after the event.
To ensure an optimal experience, participants are advised to follow a liquid diet the day before and refrain from consuming any medication before taking ayahuasca. This helps optimize the body's reaction to the substance.
The activity begins between five and six in the evening, heading towards the indigenous maloca where the ceremony will take place. While en route, the shaman prepares everything for the participants' arrival and stay, as they will be staying at the location overnight.
NOTE: The tour that Expeditions George of the Jungle manages is quite flexible, managing it with a maximum of 10 people in order to not impact the environment and that our visitors have a much more personalized service. The activities and time for each one will depend not only on the group and guide but also on the season of the year: in dry seasons longer walks are done and in rainy seasons most of the activities are done by boat.
