Arrival Day – Welcome to Maun
Upon arrival at Maun International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by your safari guide and transferred to your lodge in Maun. The rest of the afternoon is at your leisure to relax after your journey or explore the charming town of Maun, the gateway to the Okavango Delta. In the evening, enjoy a delicious dinner and a safari briefing from your guide to prepare you for the adventure ahead. Overnight in a comfortable lodge or guesthouse in Maun.
Day 1 – Maun to Okavango Delta (Mokoro Excursion & Bush Camping)
After breakfast, you’ll depart Maun and head into the Okavango Delta, one of the world’s largest inland deltas and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. A 4x4 transfer will take you to the mokoro station, where local polers will guide you through the tranquil maze of papyrus-lined channels and crystal-clear lagoons in traditional dugout canoes. Along the way, spot colorful birds, hippos, and maybe even elephants. On arrival at your remote island campsite, enjoy a bush lunch and settle in. In the late afternoon, embark on a guided nature walk to track wildlife on foot and learn about the delta’s unique ecosystem. Spend the evening around the campfire under a canopy of stars. Overnight in a fully serviced tented bush camp.
Day 2 – Exploring the Okavango Delta
Rise early for a sunrise walk—this is one of the best times to witness wildlife activity. Your guide will help you interpret tracks, signs, and animal behavior while you explore the delta’s islands and floodplains. Return to camp for a hearty brunch and rest during the heat of the day. In the afternoon, enjoy another mokoro excursion or walking safari, depending on the water levels. The peaceful rhythm of the delta and its untouched beauty provide a deep connection to nature. Another magical evening is spent in the wilderness, with dinner and storytelling around the fire.
Day 3 – Okavango Delta to Moremi Game Reserve
After an early breakfast, you’ll break camp and transfer by 4x4 vehicle to the renowned Moremi Game Reserve. This area offers some of the best game viewing in Botswana, with diverse habitats ranging from mopane woodlands to floodplains and riverine forests. En route, you may encounter giraffes, zebras, and antelope. Upon arrival at your campsite inside Moremi, enjoy lunch and relax before heading out on an afternoon game drive. Keep your eyes peeled for lions, leopards, elephants, and large herds of buffalo. Return to camp for dinner and an overnight stay in a mobile tented camp with en-suite bush amenities.
Day 4 – Game Drives in Moremi Game Reserve
Today is dedicated to exploring Moremi in depth with morning and afternoon game drives. The reserve is teeming with wildlife and birdlife, and your experienced guide will take you to prime areas for sightings. With luck, you may witness predator-prey interactions or spot the elusive African wild dog. Between drives, enjoy meals and rest at your campsite. Moremi’s mix of savannah and wetland creates an ideal environment for photography and wildlife encounters. As the sun sets, return to camp for a traditional dinner and a final evening immersed in the sounds of the African bush.
Day 5 – Moremi to Maun / Departure
After an early morning game drive and breakfast, you will begin your journey back to Maun. This drive offers a final chance to spot wildlife along the way. Upon arrival in Maun, your guide will assist you with transfers to the airport or onward travel arrangements, marking the end of an unforgettable safari adventure.
