Detailed itinerary of the Nepal Sightseeing Tour Package: DAY 1 - Cultural Tour - Begin your journey - Welcome to Kathmandu! home to God’s and Goddesses’ situated at the top of the world. - As soon as you touch down in this magical land at the top of the world, you’ll be eagerly greeted, and whisked off to your comfy hotel in the center of the city. - Kathmandu is the capital of Nepal and the Kathmandu Valley is the political and cultural heart of the Kingdom. - The urban sprawl that makes up modern Kathmandu is, in fact, two cities, Patan and Kathmandu, and we’ll explore both in the upcoming days. - Kathmandu is yours to explore until the evening, where you’ll join our experts for a luxurious banquet of typical Nepalese cuisine and discuss your upcoming adventure. DAY 2 - Budhanilkantha – Sundarijal – Boudhanath - Today’s first stop is Budhanilkantha, the largest stone sculpture of Sleeping Vishnu, located at the northern part of central Kathmandu. Budhanilkantha is also the gateway to one of the best short-hikes near Kathmandu that goes through the Shivapuri National Reserve. - Despite being close to the hustle and bustle of the city this convenient hike to Sundarijal is a peaceful and serene escape. - The next stop Boudhanath, in fact, is the world’s largest stupa sitting at 36 meters. It lies approximately 6 km east of the center of Kathmandu. The design of the stupa is fascinating, with hundreds of prayer wheels and 108 small images of Buddha surrounding the main edifice. The second after you enter, you’ll feel the spiritual energy and peace wash over you. The grounds are surrounded by numerous rooftop restaurants to enjoy lunch while taking in an astonishing view over the stupa. DAY 3 - Flight to Pokhara from Kathmandu, City of Lakes - The 6-hour drives through the scenic landscapes, small picturesque villages on the banks of the Trishuli river, will bring us to the lakeside city of Pokhara. - Our approach into the city will be signalled by the appearance of Mount Fishtail, which sits atop the valley. - In the evening you can stroll along Phewa Lake, and enjoy the boardwalk shops and restaurants. DAY 4 - Exploring Pokhara city - Annapurna Himalayas - As peaceful and serene as Pokhara is, it is also a popular spot for adventure sports. - You can cross the city from above by Paragliding or by zip line traveling 160km/hour, or even by mountain bike. - For those seeking the ultimate adventure, skydiving has recently been added to the list. - We’ll also visit some popular attractions like the Phewa lake, David’s fall, Mahendra Cave, Bat Cave, a Tibetan refugee camp and a museum that honors the climbers and the mountaineering communities. DAY 5 - Sunrise Tour in Pokhara - Sarangkot - Today starts before sunrise as you head for Sarangkot, a village perched at the very top of a hill sitting just north of Phewa Lake. - On a clear day, the panoramic ranges of Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, Machhapuchre and Ganesh Himal appear, as the sunrise paints the pristine mountains in a soft red glow. On the other side of the hill is a wonderful vista of Phewa Lake. - After basking in the glory of the sunrise on snowcapped mountains, you will return back to the hotel for breakfast and you’ll have the day all to yourself to indulge in your beautiful surroundings. DAY 6 - Drive from Pokhara to Chitwan - Today you will leave the Pokhara city to head for Chitwan along the winding road following the Marshyandi River. - Chitwan lies in the Terai region and is famous for its beautiful national park where you can enjoy various activities while exploring. It is one of the most notable national parks in Asia, covering an area of 932 km2 and is enlisted as a World Heritage site. - It is home to an abundance of wildlife and is houses endangered species such as the Royal Bengal tiger, the One-horned rhinoceros, and the Asian Elephant along with Gaurs as well as Sloth Bear, monkeys, varieties of deer, crocodiles, butterflies and over 530 species of colorful birds. DAY 7 - Chitwan Jungle Adventure - Today will be spent exploring the jungles of Chitwan. - Whether by jeep or elephant it will be an adventure into the wilds of Nepal. - Some of the other activities available are canoeing, a tour of a Tharu Village, the indigenous peoples of the Terai, or visit an elephant breeding center to learn about these majestic creatures. DAY 8- Jeep Safari in Chitwan National Park - Today you will continue your Wildlife Exploring tour in a comfortable 4 to 5 hour Jeep safari. - It will be a busy day spent capturing the abundant wildlife, and picnicking in the deep jungle. - Plan your trip to Chitwan around the rainy season that runs from June to September for the best odds in seeing the most elusive animals in the park. DAY 9 - Flight to Kathmandu - Bhaktapur City Tour and Sunset View from Nagarkot (Hill station) - You’re in for a real treat today, after visiting Chitwan National Park you will fly to Kathmandu and we tour around Bhaktapur Durbar Square. - Home to the museum of medieval art and architecture, this city is packed with examples of traditional sculpture, woodcarving and colossal pagoda temples consecrated to different Gods and Goddesses. The main attractions of Bhaktapur Durbar Square are the 55 Window Palace, the Lions Gate, the small Pashupatinath temple, Vastala temple, Nyatapola temple, and the Bhairavanath temple. - As one of UNESCO’s world heritage sites, Bhaktapur has perfectly preserved its ancient buildings that date back to medieval times. It presents a genuine living history, with its pagoda-style wooden temples, stone water spouts, narrow brick-lined alleyways, intricately carved traditional wooden Nepalese houses, and magnificent mountain ranges. - In the later afternoon, you’ll visit Nagarkot, a hill station situated to the north of Bhaktapur and famously known spectacular panoramas and beautiful sunrise and sunset views. With the chain of the mighty Himalayas in the distance, it’s the perfect place to relax or meditate, just as Milarepa, a Tibetan tantric Yogi used to Bagishwari Saraswatisthan (Manjushree cave) years ago. DAY 10 - Nagarkot Sunrise Tour - Patan Durbar Square and Monkey Temple - Nagarkot lies at the eastern periphery of the Kathmandu valley and is the second highest peak in the valley at more than 2000 meters above sea level. - After an hour-long exciting and winding drive, you will be greeted by an awe-inspiring view of Mount Everest nestled among the Himalayas. - The next stop, Patan Durbar Square, is one of the best-preserved examples of the ancient Newari architecture of the Malla reign. With 21 pinnacles built in Shikhar style, the Krishna Temple will be the main feature of our tour today. - Once called the city of Bihar and Bahils, Mahaboudha is a terra-cotta masterpiece of the 14th century. We’ll visit Hiryana Verna Mahabihar, Rudra Verna Mahabihar, and Ashokan stupas some of the most notable Buddhist attractions in the Kathmandu Valley. The Chowks, courtyards, Mul Chowk, Sundari Chowk, Mani chowk, and Narayan Chowk are other interesting locations nearby where you can stroll around the old Newari residential houses and explore the beautiful golden temples along with Kumbheshwor, which is the oldest temple in the valley. - After our tour of Patan, we’ll visit Swayambhunath (literally meaning self-incarnated), more popularly known as the Monkey Temple, as herds of monkeys reside here. Swayambhunath is a UNESCO world heritage site and consists of various shrines dating back to archaic times with panoramic views of the valley. DAY 11 - Pashupatinath- Kathmandu Durbar Square - Local market - Nepalese Dinner - Pashupatinath is one of the most famous Hindu temples in the world and is listed as a UNESCO’s World Heritage site. Dedicated to Lord Shiva with its golden pagoda style roofing and richly carved silver doors, Pashupatinath is situated on the banks of the holy Bagmati River and is used for completing the holy traditions of Hindu cremation. It’s an honor to observe this emotional and thought-provoking custom, as it presents a perspective into the cycle of life. - Your next stop is the Kathmandu Durbar Square, home to some of the finest crafts and architecture. - Kathmandu, also known as the city of temples, is a city where modern and ancient cultures live symbiotically. Durbar Square also contains the famous “Living goddess house” or “Kumari Ghar”, a perfect representation of ancient culture living in modern times. - On the way back, you will have time to buy some souvenirs, like local spices, tea or a famous pashmina shawl for your loved ones amidst the buzzing local markets. - In the evening, you’ll be welcomed into a traditional Nepalese dinner accompanied by the cultural program, in honour of your time here. DAY 12 - Final Departure - Today we will transfer you to the airport for your flight back home, with a lifetime of memories, perfect pictures of snow-capped summits, golden temples and narrow brick alleyways, vibrant markets filled with the smiling faces of the Nepali people.
