On the Teide Hiking - Trekking Tour in the Teide crater our small group is going to explore the heart of caldera of Teide - Rocks of Garcia. This strange rock formation having a very interesting origin. Even it located in the heart of Teide pre-historic crater, these rocks are not volcanic. Rocks of Garcia are formed with enormous pressure of two tectonic plates that meet here.
On this Teide hiking tour you will feel yourself in the scenery of an another planet, like taken to the scenery of Star Wars. The landscape of these rocks is absolutely mind blowing like nothing else on our planet. That's why many fantastic movies were filmed there.
We will collect you directly from your hotel in Tenerife South or very nearby and take our way to the heart of the island to the altitudes over 2000 metres. Please, be prepared for pressure changing and much colder weather along the winter (comparing to the warm and pleasant weather by the shore) or in contrary, for extremely hot and dry climate along the summer season.
Even Teide National Park is the most visited National Park in Spain, only a few of visitors are really discovering its beauty, mostly stopping by very touristy spots. This is not the case with the Teide Hiking - Trekking Tour in the Teide crater! We are going to take on of the most scenic trails and our 4.5 km long hike with altitude differences approximately 200 m up and down will take us about 2 hours.
Later on we lead to the lower cable car station (if the cable car is working - it often closed due to the weather conditions winter months). Here those who wish to use cable car and get to the altitude of 3550 m over the sea level will be provided with Fast Track cable car tickets (this is the optional and the cable car tickets not included to the tour price).
All the Teide hiking tour will take us about 8-9 hours including pick-up, transportation there and back, hiking, sightseeing and cable car ride. This hiking tour to Teide is definitely the best way to discover the biggest single crater in the world and the highest peak of Atlantic Ocean and Spain!
