Only one day per year, upon the Winter Solstice, you can witness this marvel of extraordinary knowledge of the ancient Egyptians about the science of astronomy. An early rise and a short drive to the Karnak Temple where you experience this exceptional sunrise over the axis of the temple and the holiest of holy; the sanctuary of the ancient Egyptian God, Amun Ra, God of Sun and Light and Creator of the Universe. The ceremony is adorned with a number of popular folklore dances that represent Luxor heritage.

After the sun moves on to the West Bank towards Hatshepsut Temple, you will have a short time to walk into the Karnak Temple, built by the rulers of Ancient Egypt from the 12th dynasty to the rule of the Ptolemaic pharaohs.
